Janna and her daughter put up their second tree this weekend, the tree that holds stitched and other sentimental ornaments. This year they remembered to count the stitched pieces as they went up, and the total is 51. What a lovely thing, so many years of beautiful work. I love the variety on this tree, not a hyper organized and color coded tree, but all the designs she fell in love with from year to year. I have two busy cats, so my measly dozen needlepoint ornaments, along with fragile ornaments are hung on a tree that stays in my studio, where I stitch, knit, and paint in peace. It all counts, what ever you are making, however you display or gift it, it all counts. The hours of quiet work are a meditation of sorts, with results you can see and feel.
Happy stitching,
Norla
